Emotions Are Contagious (Page 164)

Influencing each others mood is a natural process. An exchange of emotions is constantly transmitted from one person to the next. A study of three strangers sitting in a circle together for 2 minutes found that the most expressive person inflicted their mood on the other two people in the group. Whether the most expressive person arrived in an angry or happy mood, the others came away feeling heightened emotions of the same mood as the expressive person in the group.

With this knowledge, I am confident that when aiming to promote a positive and uplifting mood via video, the fundamental emotions shown should be ones of a positive and uplifting nature which can then be passed on to the audience as the audience will be engaged with the film- the film will be the most expressive means amongst the group.
